Karachi, the venue of the conference is the heart of Pakistan, an ancient city evolving from a small fishing village several hundred years ago to one of the largest cities in the world. Karachi lies on the shores of Arabian Sea. Here you can see the old and the new. For food lovers the city has to offer exotic cuisine and for shopping lovers it is a buyer's paradise. Handicrafts carefully prepared by village folk, from Sindhi Topi Ajrak to Kashmiri Pashmina Shawls are a big attraction. Eight hundred km long pristine beach yet unexplored awaits the adventurous. Crabbing in Manora Sea is a big tourist attraction. Other places worth a visit include several other amazing beaches, ports and islands. Makli Graveyard is one of the largest and oldest graveyards in the world with artistically carved graves offering window into various phases of Sindh (and Indian) History.
- Summers is expected in Karachi in May 2014, with temperatures going as high as 34 degree with around 10 hours of sunshine per day. No rainfall is expected in May 2014. This is a major attraction for people coming from cold areas like Europe who can enjoy the Sunny weather.
